Decks

At Aro Deck and Basement, we work with homeowners through the deck-building process step by step. First, we work with you to design a deck that not only has the features you want, but complements the look of your home. Second, we make sure you know all your options when it comes to the materials out there—choosing the right material is more than just the cost per square foot. Finally, whether your deck is large or small, wood or composite, we will build it with a dedication to long-lasting quality. Aro Deck and Basement is committed to providing the highest level of service and customer satisfaction for the best value possible.

Quality Begins With Design

A beautiful deck that maximizes your outdoor living experience is more than planks next to your house. There are many options available to homeowners to get the most out of their new deck.  Aro Deck and Basement will help you decide on and design any of the options you choose to build into your deck: stairs, benches, planters, tables, privacy partitions, and skirting (lattice or solid).

Choosing a Material: Composite or Wood?

Aro Deck and Basement specializes in composite decks. In recent years, composite decking (a combination of wood fibers and plastic resin) has grown immensely in popularity and come down in price. It offers homeowners an extremely low maintenance deck—no painting, sanding, staining, or treating is required, ever! With many styles and colors to choose from, composite decking is a great choice for anyone looking for the best value in a low-maintenance deck.
Aro Deck and Basement is also experienced in traditional wood decking, which has the lowest cost per square foot but does have much higher maintenance requirements than composite. Traditional wood decks are usually made of redwood, cedar, or pressure treated wood. Your wood deck will require yearly staining and treating, but with proper upkeep delivers years of beautiful outdoor living.
A third option in decking material is exotic hardwood, typically known as Ipe. This tropical hardwood is considered the best deck product available due to its extreme durability, resistance to decay, rot, and bugs. An Ipe deck can be expected to last twenty-five to forty years! To maintain its beautiful color it needs to be treated every year, but otherwise requires no chemical treatment at all to preserve its durability. This, along with the fact that Ipe is harvested from sustainable South American forests, also makes it an environmentally responsible decking alternative.
